The Elora Festival Singers

The Elora Festival Singers are a professional chamber choir, founded in 1980 as the principal choral ensemble of the Elora Festival. Since 1997, the choir has been the professional core of the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir and the Mendelssohn Singers, and is the choral ensemble-in-residence of the Elora Festival for four weeks each summer. Through regular concert series, recordings, broadcasts, and touring, the Elora Festival Singers has established a reputation as one of the finest chamber choirs in Canada and beyond, contributing to the musical life, not only of the community, but on an international stage. The Elora Festival Singers are known for their rich, warm sound and clarity of texture. The choir is renowned for its diverse styles, from early music to spirituals to contemporary, for its commitment to Canadian repertoire, and for its collaborations with other Canadian artists. The Elora Festival Singers contribute large amounts of outstanding musical entertainment to the Sensational Elora events, filling your ears as much as we fill your stomach.

The Fergus Scottish Festival is… music, bands, bagpipes, drums, crafts for the kids, heavy events, author lectures, highland dancing, sword fighting displays, storytelling, singing, local artisans, and much more! Whether you’re familiar with Scottish music and traditions or not, you will be sure to enjoy yourself at this lively Fergus tradition. Since 1946, the Fergus Scottish Festival has brought thousands to their beautiful community to join the celebration of all things Scottish. Watch as the streets of Fergus’s historic downtown come alive as a parade of pipers, drummers, marching bands and community floats kick off the start of the festival. Over the following 4 days, take in the atmosphere of the festival as you treat your ears to a variety of Scottish music, including cute-as-a-button 10-year old Liam McGlashon on his fiddle, and Juno award nominees the Sultans of String. As the festival’s tagline says, it’s Scotland – without the airfare. 

Sensational Grand Gala

Join us in our Celebration of the Senses Grand Gala. Music, food, drink, and dance are all a part of this engaging event. Let us take you for a spin on the floor with the melodious Mumbo Drumbo, Elora’s own percussion driven dance band. As you soak up the fabulous Elora vibes, we will also have a Sensational Auction featuring Fantasy Prizes to suit every sense. There will be lots of additional surprises during this event and don’t forget that the dress code is to look SENSATIONAL.

Funky Mamas

This sensational group of female singers make music entertaining for all ages, especially children. The Funky Mamas create blends of their all time favourite traditional tunes and mix them with funky blues, swing, and rock. These women say that their inspiration comes from the glowing faces and laughter of children during each performance they have. They are proud and excited to be part of the wave of Funky Families who are bringing their passion for playing music into their homes, communities, and beyond.

It is Sensational Elora who hires this group of family-friendly entertainers to bring music for the children of many participants. The performances are always colourful and fun, creating a day which families never forget.
